Welcome to the Red River & Northwest Minnesota Flotilla 30-5

What is the Coast Guard Auxiliary?

Since its creation by Congress in 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has served as the civilian, non-military component of the Coast Guard. Today, nearly 30,000 volunteer men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are active on the waterways and classrooms. The "Four Cornerstones" of the Auxiliary are Recreational Boating Safety, Operations and Marine Safety, Member Services and Fellowship.

Our flotilla

Our group consists of volunteers from northwestern Minnesota. We provide vessel safety checks, marine dealer visits, boating safety courses, participation in public events and on the water safety patrols including search and rescue. Although our order issuing authority is Coast Guard Station Duluth, we are not military or law enforcement. Our primary focus is on boating safety for the general public.

Currently we operate on Lake of the Woods out of Warroad, Minnesota and on Leech Lake by Walker, Minnesota. During the winter we have monthly planning and training meetings and when the ice melts, we are out on the lakes!

Our New USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 091-30-05 WOW Website

Visit our new official Auxiliary website - go to "Other Websites" in the right hand menu bar and click on NW Minnesota Flotilla 091-30-05.

WOW is a “pushbutton” website development platform that permits units of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary to develop and maintain modern, attractive websites with absolutely no programming required.WOW has been specially developed for Auxiliary flotillas, divisions, and even districts to automatically provide current, up-to-date unit information – such as staff officers, meeting locations, or public education courses, in the context of a familiar, branded U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary look and feel.

There is also a new WOW website for Division 30. On it you will find a new monthly newsletter called "Northstar" that features our 3 flotillas in Division 30. That link is also listed in the right hand menu bar under "Other Websites".
